GROUTING WIDE CRACKS
IN A TROUBLE-FREE APPLICATION

It is evident that the hole would accept thicker grout, so the second 15-minute period is grouted with 0.6:1.

Assume that the hole takes 19.75 of grout [ 550 litres] in this period.

SUMMARY OF APPLICATION SO FAR - at 30 minutes
Permeability before grouting is more than 100 lugeons (high)
Water:cement ratio = 0.8:1 and then 0.6:1. Pressure is zero because the hole swollows the grout without build up.
Total cement injected so far = 18.46 bags in the first 15 minutes + 17.96 bags in the second 15 minutes = 36.42 bags total. You can easily calculate the amount of cement in the injected grout by using the automatic programmes available in the Batching section of this Web Page, or alternatively by use of the tables in the Guide.

It is necessary to decide what to do next. Your choice is from one of the following:

  1. Let the simulation decide what to do next.
  2. Carry on grouting without change.
  3. Thicken the mix
